I’m excited to share with you the detox cleanse I recently did while attending Barbara O’Neal’s Health Retreat. It was an incredible experience, and I can’t wait to tell you all about it.
Juicing Options:
For this detox cleanse, you’ll need to have a protein powder, along with your juices, and a barley grass green drink. Here are all the ingredients you’ll need:
Juice #1: Apple Carrot Celery Juice
3 apples
3 carrots
1 stalk of celery
Instructions:
Wash the apples, carrots, and celery with a mixture of baking soda and water to remove any residue.
Core and quarter the apples.
Juice the apples, carrots, and celery.
Your first juice is ready! It should yield about 8 oz of juice.
Barley Grass Green Drink:
For the green drink that accompanies your first juice, you’ll need:
Filtered water
Fresh-squeezed lemon juice
Barley grass powder
Liquid vitamin C (I used Dynamic Health)
Liquid vitamin B (optional, I didn’t use this)
Instructions:
Mix 1 teaspoon of barley grass powder with water.
Add fresh-squeezed lemon juice and half a teaspoon of liquid vitamin C.
Stir well. This is your barley grass shot!
Protein Drink:
You’ll alternate between the green drink and the protein drink throughout your detox. For the protein drink, you’ll need:
1 cup of almond milk or soy milk
1 scoop of plant-based protein powder
2 teaspoons of coconut cream
Sweetener (optional)
Instructions:
Mix 1 scoop of protein powder and 2 teaspoons of coconut cream with almond or soy milk.
Add sweetener if desired (I skipped this step since my protein powder is already flavored).
That’s it! Your protein drink is ready to enjoy.
