How to Make Watermelon, Pineapple, and Cloves Juice Without a Juicer

Combining the refreshing flavors of watermelon and pineapple with the aromatic zest of cloves creates a delightful juice perfect for hydrating and revitalizing. Here’s a simple way to prepare this delicious fruit juice without needing a juicer.

Ingredients:

2 cups watermelon, cubed and seeds removed

1 cup pineapple, cubed

1/4 teaspoon ground cloves or 4-5 whole cloves

1 cup water (optional, to adjust consistency)

Ice cubes (for serving)

Equipment:

Blender

Fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth

Large bowl

Spoon or spatula

Instructions:

1.Prepare the Fruit:

Wash the watermelon and pineapple thoroughly.

Remove the rind from the watermelon and pineapple. Cut the flesh into cubes, ensuring to remove any seeds from the watermelon.

2.Blend the Fruits:

Place the watermelon, pineapple, and cloves into the blender. If you’re using whole cloves, you can tie them in a small piece of cheesecloth to make them easier to remove after blending.

If the fruits are particularly juicy, you might not need to add water. If you prefer a thinner consistency, add a cup of water.

Blend on high until the mixture is smooth.

3.Strain the Juice:

Place a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth over a large bowl. Pour the blended fruit mixture through the strainer.

Use a spoon or spatula to press the pulp against the strainer, extracting as much juice as possible.

4.Chill and Serve:

Discard the pulp and spices, or save them for composting.

Transfer the juice into a pitcher or bottles and refrigerate until cold.

Serve the chilled juice over ice for a refreshing drink.

Tips for the Best Juice:

Choosing Fruits: Select ripe watermelon and pineapple for the sweetest taste. The ripeness of the fruit significantly enhances the natural sweetness, reducing the need for added sugars.

Cloves: Cloves add a warm, spicy note to the juice, which can be quite potent. Start with a small amount and adjust according to your taste preference.

Storage: Freshly made juice is best enjoyed the same day, but you can store it in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. After that, it may start to ferment due to the natural sugars in the fruit.

This watermelon, pineapple, and cloves juice is not only delicious but also packed with vitamins and antioxidants. It’s a fantastic way to enjoy a refreshing, hydrating drink that’s full of flavor and health benefits!
