Spinach often gets a bad rap for being tricky to cook, but fear not! In this blog post, I’m excited to share a delightful and speedy spinach recipe inspired by a traditional Chinese cooking method. With just a few simple steps, you’ll transform fresh spinach into a flavorful dish that’s sure to impress. So, let’s dive in and discover how to effortlessly prepare spinach in a way that’ll have you coming back for seconds!
The Recipe: Ingredients:
1 bunch of fresh spinach
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
1 tablespoon of soy sauce
1 teaspoon of sesame oil
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Start by washing the spinach thoroughly and removing any tough stems. Drain excess water and set aside.
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
Carefully add the spinach to the skillet. Use tongs to toss and coat the spinach in the garlic-infused oil.
Cook the spinach for 1-2 minutes, continuously tossing, until it starts to wilt but still retains its vibrant green color.
Drizzle the soy sauce and sesame oil over the spinach. Continue to toss for another minute to evenly distribute the flavors.
Season with salt and pepper to taste, then remove the skillet from the heat.
Cooking Tips:
Be mindful not to overcook the spinach; it should be tender but still slightly crisp.
Feel free to customize the recipe by adding ingredients like red pepper flakes for a spicy kick or toasted sesame seeds for extra crunch.
Serve the spinach as a side dish alongside your favorite protein or incorporate it into stir-fries, rice bowls, or omelets for a nutritious boost.
