4 liver cleansing detox drink recipes

The liver’s main role is to filter the blood: it cleans red blood cells, eliminates waste products and helps us digest fats. The liver is also responsible for capturing toxins that enter our body when we eat, smoke or take medications.

Cleansing the liver (also known as liver draining) therefore helps it in its elimination function, but also gives it the boost needed to store the vitamins (A, D, K, E) that our body needs.

Let’s review natural and organic food-based juices to drink in the evening before sleeping

1 – STRAWBERRY WATER

Prepare this delicious detox drink for liver cleansing. Cut and mix 500 g of strawberries with 1.5 l of water in a bottle. Place the mixture in the refrigerator overnight before consuming the drink. To eliminate toxins from the liver, you need to encourage the consumption of antioxidant nutrients, such as vitamin C.

Strawberries, in fact, are rich in vitamin C, which neutralizes free radicals and breaks down toxic substances present in the body. Additionally, strawberries contain natural acids that help lower blood sugar and detoxify the liver.

2 – MINT TEA

Ginger has been the subject of research demonstrating its effectiveness in weight loss. In a randomized meta-analysis, it was found to significantly reduce body weight by promoting fat burning.

To prepare it, grate a ginger root, place it in a large glass and add hot water. Leave to cool and then add the juice of half a lemon and a spoonful of honey to the infusion to sweeten the flavour, if you feel the need.

3 – A DETOXIFYING CINNAMONICA APPLE DRINK

With a few pieces of grapefruit combined with 2 or 3 cinnamon sticks in water, you get a super effective detox solution. It burns calories, but also helps break down and eliminate cholesterol crystals

4 – DANDELION INFUSION

Its name evokes its diuretic action! Also known as « dandelion », dandelion is a purifying and diuretic plant. It has a protective action on the liver, as suggested by this study conducted on mice. It is also sometimes used as a laxative to relieve constipation.

How to prepare it: on the market you can find preparations of all parts of the plant, leaves and roots or just roots. The leaves are usually prepared in infusion for about ten minutes in water and the roots as a decoction and then infused.
